Too many BAs are trapped in workplaces so dysfunctional that even the best career advice falls flat.
Good luck with “influencing stakeholders”, “championing change”, “staying positive”. Without basic hygiene such as clear processes, defined roles, accountability and respect, none of it sticks. You end up pressing buttons with no reward. 😞
Shame and self-doubt creep in when you’re blamed for failures that arise from broken systems. If you constantly feel it’s your fault, it probably isn’t. Something’s deeply broken in the organisation.
BA survival tip: Assess your environment before trying to “be the change.” If your workplace dismisses structure and your role, no amount of effort will fix it. You deserve better, and your well-being depends on it. Start looking around.
Let’s talk about dysfunctional cultures so we don’t suffer in silence.
