I never set out to be a LinkedIn โcontent creatorโ nor have I had any formal writing training. Promoting ebooks, online training courses or coaching through my writing was never my thing either.
Yet my posts currently average over a million views a year, which is surprising since most of them were drafted on Apple Notes between house dad duties and school pickups; iPhone 12 and cheap ยฃ8 stylus in hand.
Sharing personal experiences of software engineering, autism, disability, parenting, counselling training, corporate workplaces, and self-employment came naturally; followers grew, and no content plan was in sight.
The Medium article, My Life is Very Ordinary But It Still Sells, is an account of how everyday experiences can be just as interesting as sci-fi, written by a writer whoโs made a living doing just this.
Escaping the drudgery of life, processing emotions and contemplating difficult experiences; I write for these reasons, and ordinary life provides all the content you need.
Happy writing, everyone.
